North Sydney Office-to-Units Adaptive Reuse Mooted

West Street Adaptive Reuse EDM

An adaptive reuse project filed for North Sydney will save thousands of tonnes in carbon emissions, according to its proponents.

Maville West, an entity associated with wife-and-husband team Zhiling Mai and Xinan Shen according to ASIC documents, has filed plans to transform a 1970s brutalist office block into a residential apartment building.

The project on the 1814sq m site at 8 West Street would save an estimated 3577 metric tonnes of carbon dioxide in the construction phase, according to development application documents.
